Andy Murray’s Hotel Keeps His Tennis Trophies Out of Sight, Kim Says

Andy Murray’s hotel is getting a television spotlight, but guests should not expect to find his tennis trophies displayed around the property. His wife, Kim, has said the couple wanted Cromlix to feel like a hotel in its own right, rather than a tribute to Andy’s sporting career.
The five-star Cromlix House, near Murray’s hometown of Dunblane, is set in woodland and landscaped grounds. The couple bought the Victorian country mansion in 2013 and have since invested in renovations, including a new wing and dining venues. The hotel is due to feature in Channel 4’s documentary series *Our Scottish Hotel*, which follows the transformation over a year. The programme is expected to air in December.
Cromlix includes the restaurant Cradle at Cromlix, which has been recognised in the Michelin Guide, as well as The Garden Room, an afternoon-tea venue called The Glasshouse and a bar. The project has been described as the biggest financial gamble of the couple’s relationship.
Public company records cited by the source indicate that the Murrays have spent at least £7.6 million on the hotel and related property. The article says accounts recorded substantial spending on the venue in 2013 and 2014, including refurbishment and the purchase of adjoining land and properties.
Kim previously told Meander Scotland that the hotel contains little evidence of Andy’s former career. She has also said the business is not meant to be an homage to him. The TV series will offer viewers a look at the work behind the couple’s hospitality venture, while the trophy-free approach keeps the focus on Cromlix as a destination rather than a tennis museum.
