Ang Mo Kio Bus Passenger Confronts Driver After Being Told to Wait Before Boarding

A passenger in Ang Mo Kio was filmed confronting a bus driver after the driver did not immediately open the doors for him to board. The video shows the man shaking his fist and appearing to threaten to punch the driver while the bus was in motion, according to the report.
Bus operator Go Ahead said the incident began when the man was waiting at a stop and gestured for the driver to move the bus forward. The driver signalled for him to wait while the bus was manoeuvring into the stop area.
The company said a concrete barrier at the bus stop meant the doors could not be opened safely at that point. According to Go Ahead’s preliminary findings, the passenger became agitated after boarding and continued verbally abusing the driver despite the driver’s explanations.
The confrontation lasted about two minutes and ended when the passenger moved to the back of the bus, the operator said. Online commenters criticised the passenger’s behaviour, with some expressing concern about the potential risk to the driver and other people on board.
Go Ahead said it supports its driver and does not tolerate verbal abuse. The incident remains under investigation, and the operator is reviewing CCTV footage.
