Anita Bird Enters Big Brother Hoping to Be the Housemate Everyone Can Lean On

Anita Bird
Big Brother Australia contestant Anita Bird says she plans to bring a mix of humour, support and straight-talking energy into the house. The travel adviser is also the sister of Reggie Bird, the two-time winner whose surprise connection gives Anita an especially familiar link to the show. Before entering the 2026 house, Anita told WHO she hoped to be “a bit of everything” as a housemate. She described herself as someone who likes helping others and being part of a team, adding that she would check in on people and offer a listening ear if someone needed to talk. Anita said she could be serious when the moment called for it, but also enjoyed joking and banter. Anita said she was open to meeting someone in the house, provided they were kind, genuine and respectful. She described herself as old-fashioned about romance and said she values a partner who accepts her rather than trying to change her. She also said she wanted the experience to be a challenge and an opportunity to do something for herself. The season began with 14 housemates entering a new home in Brisbane, with a $100,000 prize at stake. Anita’s blend of kindness and an unfiltered approach may offer a contrast to the competitive side of the game, though she has yet to show how those intentions will play out under the cameras. For now, she says she is going in to have fun and be there for the people around her.
