Singer Darko Lazić has spoken about the lasting pain of losing his brother Dragan, who died in a traffic accident on March 11. In an appearance on the show “Premijera Vikend-Specijal,” he described how he is trying to help Dragan’s children and give the family a way to keep moving through grief. Lazić said his brother’s children spend time with his own, and that he makes no distinction between them. He wants them to feel cared for, even though he knows he cannot take the place of their father. “I do everything I can so they don’t feel so much suffering and pain,” he said, adding that the loss is still fresh for the family. He also described how difficult it is to talk publicly about Dragan. Lazić said he tries to bring some brightness back into the children’s lives and help them smile, while acknowledging that they miss their father. “Half of my life went with him,” he said, according to the interview. The singer has also taken on a role his brother had planned: becoming the godfather to one of Dragan’s children at a christening. Lazić said he agreed without hesitation after Dragan died. The gathering was a small celebration with lunch and music. Lazić is planning a memorial concert for March 11, the anniversary of his brother’s death. He said the event had first been intended for October, but plans changed, and that performers Dragan loved are expected to take part. One seat in the front row will be left empty in his memory, Lazić said, adding that his brother will always remain with him. Their mother, Branka Lazić, has also shared her grief. On social media, she marked five months since her son’s death with a photograph and a message saying that the day his eyes closed, hers lost their light.
