Halid Muslimović Recalls Supporting Sinan Sakić and Struggling to Provide for His Family

Halid Muslimović has opened up about the friendships, setbacks and turning points that shaped his career, reflecting on fellow folk performers and difficult years when he says he had to rebuild almost everything. In a recent interview, the singer revisited stories from his life on and off stage, according to the source.
One of the central topics was Sinan Sakić. Muslimović said that some colleagues did not show enough respect for Sakić’s vocal talent, and recalled offering him support during that period. The two also worked together on tours and performed across Europe, he said. He spoke as well about meeting Šaban Šaulić, explaining why the pair never became close, while still describing their time together as meaningful.
Muslimović also discussed his relationship with Dragana Mirković, saying they had been close and had plans to work together before circumstances connected with the war separated them. He touched on working with Lepa Brena and spoke positively about Saša Popović. Other names mentioned in the conversation included Toma Zdravković, Zorica Brunclik, Miroslav Ilić, Zoran Kalezić and Haris Džinović.
The singer described a period of serious financial difficulty, saying he sometimes performed for very small fees, drove himself to gigs and focused on supporting his family. He recalled having his electricity cut off, but said he did not want others to see how hard things had become. He also addressed press coverage and legal disputes, while declining to revive certain conflicts publicly.
The interview took a more personal turn when Muslimović spoke about his mother and the feeling that he could have done more for her. Looking ahead, he said he is planning a second part of his autobiography, a new album and a documentary-style film about his life, which he expects to involve three generations of his family. The conversation offers his account of a career shaped by music, friendships, family responsibilities and difficult stretches behind the scenes.
