Maya Jama Finds Dating Fun Again as King Kenny Romance Rumours Grow

Maya Jama has reportedly grown close to YouTuber King Kenny while filming The Celebrity Traitors, with sources suggesting their connection has continued beyond the show. The pair’s on-screen laughter and apparent warmth have prompted viewers to wonder whether their friendship could turn romantic. A source quoted by Closer says the two became close during filming and stayed in touch over the summer. The source also claims Kenny arranged the large bouquet of white and yellow roses Maya shared on social media for her 32nd birthday in August. Her birthday post included the message, “Happy birthday to the queen of 1942!” The source says the reference was a nod to Don Julio 1942, a tequila they had enjoyed together. Their closeness has also drawn attention because Maya has recently been through a relationship change. She and footballer Rúben Dias reportedly split in April, shortly before she travelled to the Scottish castle to film the programme. Before that relationship, Maya’s high-profile on-and-off romance with rapper Stormzy had ended in 2024. The source describes Kenny as a welcome distraction after Maya’s split from Dias, adding that she likes him but is not looking to rush into a commitment. According to the account, Maya is taking her time and enjoying herself while keeping her options open. Those comments remain attributed to the unnamed source; neither a confirmed relationship nor the meaning of the birthday gesture is established in the article. Maya first became widely known through presenting work with MTV and BBC Radio 1, and has since become one of television’s prominent hosts. Kenny, who is described as private about his love life, has not publicly confirmed a romance with her. For now, the reported birthday surprise and their friendly moments on screen are fueling speculation, rather than proving that they are a couple.
