Min Aung Hlaing surveys Nay Pyi Taw projects and presses officials on deadlines

Min Aung Hlaing inspected a series of construction and urban development projects in Nay Pyi Taw, with a focus on completing work on time and to a high standard. According to the report, he was accompanied by Vice-President Nyo Saw, ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and other officials during the visit on October 31.
The group first went to the site of a new road linking the city with Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, where construction is under way on the Yone Pin Creek Bridge. Officials briefed the president on progress. He urged them to meet the planned schedule while maintaining quality, and said designers should account for expected growth in vehicle and motorcycle traffic, as well as access and exit routes.
Min Aung Hlaing also called for close oversight of the road and bridge work to support durability. The report says he spoke about properly built roadside embankments and planting shade trees, windbreaks and evergreen trees on both sides of the route. He then travelled along the road towards Yaza Thingaha Road, inspecting cleanliness, beautification and roadside planting.
At People’s Square, officials presented plans that include statues of prominent figures, marble bas-reliefs, gardens, walkways, an entertainment plaza, shops and parking areas. The president called for the capital to be developed into a modern urban centre, with construction carried out systematically and to required standards. He also asked officials to consult people with expertise in traditional Myanmar arts, painting and sculpture when designing the statues and reliefs.
The report describes an official inspection focused on infrastructure, public spaces and the appearance of the capital. It does not say when the projects will be completed or provide details of their budgets.
