Ozzy Osbourne’s Unreleased Recordings Could Feature in a Film About His Life

Ozzy Osbourne
Two previously unreleased Ozzy Osbourne recordings may eventually be heard in a film about the late rock singer, according to a report. The tracks were made during sessions with producer Andrew Watt for Osbourne’s 2022 album, Patient Number 9, but are said to remain unfinished. A music industry source told RadarOnline.com that the recordings came from a difficult stretch in Osbourne’s life, when declining health was limiting what he could do. The insider said Watt helped keep him engaged in the studio and that the singer stayed enthusiastic about making music despite those physical challenges. The material is reportedly being considered for a Sony Pictures biopic about Osbourne’s career, personal struggles and long relationship with his wife, Sharon. No soundtrack plan or release date has been announced, and the recordings would need further production and arrangements before they could be released in finished form. According to the report, only Watt and musicians involved in the sessions have heard the material so far. Sharon Osbourne has reportedly not heard completed versions because final mixes have not been made. That leaves open whether the songs will appear in the movie or be released separately. Sharon and the couple’s son, Jack Osbourne, are continuing to develop the long-planned project. The report says the film remains in development while its screenplay is worked on and Sony considers directors. Casting has also not been confirmed. Jack has said that conversations have taken place about an actor who might portray his father, but no decision has been made public. If the tracks make it into the film, they could add a rare recording-room glimpse of Osbourne’s later creative work. For now, their future remains uncertain: the biopic is still being developed, and the unfinished songs have yet to be formally announced for release.
