Peller Turns Down ₦70 Million Offer to Name His Unborn Child

Popular Nigerian TikTok creator Peller reportedly declined a sizeable offer from cryptocurrency trader Habby Forex, who proposed paying $50,000—about ₦70 million—for the chance to choose a name for Peller’s unborn child. The offer was made during a livestream, according to the report. Habby Forex told Peller he was prepared to pay the sum in exchange for naming rights. Peller initially appeared taken aback and did not seem to have registered just how much the offer amounted to. Once the dollar figure was converted to naira, however, he reacted with surprise. Peller said he would need to talk the idea over with his wife, fellow content creator Jarvis, before deciding. He then asked Habby Forex what name he had in mind for the baby. Despite the proposed payment, the TikToker ultimately made clear that he would not accept the money. The report says Peller put his family’s interests ahead of the financial reward and did not want money to shape a personal decision about his child. It did not say whether Habby Forex made any further offer or what name he had planned to suggest. The moment drew attention because of the size of the offer and Peller’s response during the livestream. Rather than agreeing on the spot, he said the decision involved his family and that he would not trade that choice for the proposed sum.
