Princess Eugenie Told Jack Brooksbank to Remove His Glasses at the Altar, Lip Reader Says

Princess Eugenie reportedly had a small request for Jack Brooksbank as she reached the altar on their wedding day: take off his glasses. The exchange, described by lip reader Nicola Hickling, is one of several conversations she says she interpreted from footage of the 2018 ceremony at St. George’s Chapel.
According to Hickling, Eugenie told Jack to remove the glasses as she arrived. He then appeared to ask, “Is that better?” and she replied, “Much better.” The report attributes the conversation to the lip reader, whose account was provided on behalf of Betfair Casino; it does not offer independent confirmation of what the couple said.
The ceremony was attended by relatives and other royals, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Hickling also offered interpretations of exchanges involving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She claimed Harry remarked that everyone was there, while Meghan referred to people asking questions as they arrived. Those comments, too, are presented as the lip reader’s reading of the wedding footage.
Hickling further alleged that Harry spoke to Catherine, Princess of Wales, about work on campaigns and a period of time he had to complete them. The report quotes a brief exchange in which Catherine was said to respond with surprise and Harry replied that he wished he were joking. It does not specify what campaigns he meant.
The account also describes supposed conversation between King Charles and Prince William about the royal family’s long-term needs, though Hickling’s interpretation does not identify precisely who or what they were discussing. A separate fragment in the report has Eugenie apparently ask, “Oh, do I?” before receiving the response, “They’re beautiful,” but the context is unclear.
The wedding remains a family occasion captured in photographs and video, while the reported dialogue comes from a lip reader’s interpretation rather than an official transcript. The most personal detail in Hickling’s account is the bride’s alleged preference that her groom remove his glasses as she joined him at the altar.
