Sandra Afrika Says Marriage Is Not for Her Despite Being Happily in Love

Sandra Afrika says she is in a happy relationship, but does not see marriage or a traditional wedding in her future. The singer spoke about her feelings on the subject in an interview with Hype, keeping details about her partner private while confirming that she is enjoying the relationship.
“I’m not getting married. I still stand by that,” she said, explaining that weddings and the idea of staging one do not appeal to her. If marriage were ever to become a possibility, she said she would prefer something private and intimate rather than a large celebration. She also suggested that having a child is not on her immediate agenda, adding that she feels young and would rather wait.
Afrika offered little information about the man she is seeing, describing him warmly but cautiously. “Let’s say I’m in a relationship. He’s wonderful. We’ll see how wonderful he remains,” she said, making clear she does not want to praise him too much before time tells how things develop.
Her reluctance to marry is not new. Afrika has previously said that the prospect of becoming a wife feels restrictive to her, and that she prefers a relationship in which a couple remain boyfriend and girlfriend. She described marriage as carrying a sense of finality that does not match how she imagines her own life.
Rather than a formal wedding, she said she could picture having a party with friends. For now, her message is that she is content in her relationship but wants to move at her own pace, without pressure to make marriage or starting a family the next step.
