Selma Blair faces court after alleged flight and hospital incidents

Actress Selma Blair has been ordered to appear in court after prosecutors filed charges over alleged incidents involving a flight crew member and hospital staff, according to the report. Blair has denied the two charges connected to the events, which began during a Delta Air Lines journey from Los Angeles to New York.
Airport officials reportedly received a call on Sunday about a passenger behaving in a way described as physically harmful. The New York Port Authority said two flight attendants were injured, with one taken to hospital for treatment. The FBI investigated the incident, the article says.
Blair, 54, was taken into custody and brought to hospital. Her publicist said a sudden medical episode had contributed to what happened. Prosecutors allege that, while being transported by ambulance, Blair kicked a police officer and later assaulted a nurse at the hospital. After she was discharged, she was taken to Queens Central Booking.
According to CBS News, a judge released Blair under bail set at $60,000. The charges relate to the alleged conduct during the ambulance trip and at the hospital. The allegations have not been proven, and Blair has pleaded not guilty, the report says.
Blair became widely known through films such as Legally Blonde, Hellboy and Cruel Intentions. She stepped back from film work after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. In a later interview with the BBC, she said the illness had disrupted her career because she had to stop working.
The article also recalls a 2016 episode on a flight, when two nurses reportedly had to help control Blair during a period of distress. She later apologized publicly, according to the report. Before the latest incident, Blair had shared photos on Instagram from trips with her dog Scout, described as a support animal she obtained in 2021 to help with difficulties associated with her condition.
