Manjai claimed the 2026 Kanifing Regional Zonal Super Cup after edging Serrekunda East in a tense final decided by a long penalty shootout. The match ended 1-1 after regular time, before Manjai prevailed 7-6 from the spot, according to the report. The final was played at Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on Sunday, with Kanifing Municipal Council Lord Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda taking the ceremonial kick-off. Manjai had taken the lead in the 19th minute through Omar Bojang, after an earlier effort from Salieu Goode was stopped by Serrekunda East goalkeeper Ebrima Bah. Goode had another chance to extend Manjai’s advantage before half-time, but his attempt sailed over the bar. Serrekunda East improved after the break and pressed for an equaliser. Manjai goalkeeper Alagie Bah denied Tombong Fofana, while Yerro Jammeh sent a header narrowly over the goal. Serrekunda East finally drew level in the 87th minute, when substitute Lamin Sanyang found the net. With neither side able to settle the contest in regular time, the final went to penalties, where Manjai held their nerve to secure the trophy. Alagie Bah was named Man of the Match for his performance. Manjai head coach Cherno Badjie described the final as a difficult contest and said his side had beaten Serrekunda East earlier in the zonal tournament. He also said his team was ready to defend its title in the upcoming Kanifing Municipality Zonal Football Tournament. Serrekunda East coach Musa Sabally said he was disappointed with the defeat, while crediting his players for fighting back after a weak first half. He said the team would return to training and prepare for the next tournament.
