Yul Edochie Draws Backlash After Throwback Video Includes May

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has attracted criticism after sharing a fan-made video that included footage of his estranged wife, May Edochie, as well as his current wife, Judy Austin, and other members of his family.
The compilation was sent to Yul by a fan and covered different parts of his life, including his parents, scenes from his films, and images of his children. May appeared alongside the family material, prompting a reaction from her supporters after the actor reposted the video on social media.
Yul appeared pleased with the tribute, writing that he had not known he had been given the name “Peaceful Troublemaker.” He praised the compilation as beautiful and well crafted. But some commenters objected to May’s inclusion and urged him to remove her images from the video.
Several fans described May as a woman of integrity and argued that she should not feature in content connected to the actor. Others made their own interpretations of the repost, suggesting that Yul might miss his former family. Those comments were speculation from social media users; Yul’s caption did not say that he wanted May back or explain why the video included her.
The dispute reflects the continuing public attention around the actor’s family life. The report notes that Yul’s fan-made tribute also featured Judy Austin and their children, while May appeared with her own children. The online response focused particularly on whether May’s footage belonged in the compilation and whether Yul should have shared it unchanged.
There was no indication in the post that Yul edited or commissioned the video himself: he said a fan had sent it to him. Even so, his decision to repost the compilation placed the material before his followers and prompted the calls for May’s footage to be removed.
