Manoa Kamikamica joins Fiji town hall as Constitution Bill vote nears

With Parliament’s final vote on the Constitution Amendment Bill approaching, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica is among the six political figures set to face questions from the public at a town hall forum in Nasinu this Thursday.
The Fijian Media Association says the event will begin at 7pm at the CBHTS Lecture Theatre on the Fiji National University’s Nasinu campus. Organisers are inviting people to raise concerns not only about the proposed constitutional changes, but also about other national issues affecting their lives.
Kamikamica will share the panel with National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad, One Nation president Tupou Draunidalo, SODELPA leader Aseri Radrodro, Unity Fiji leader Savenaca Narube and Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry. The discussion will be hosted by fijivillage News Director Vijay Narayan and Mai TV Director Stanley Simpson, with a live stream planned across media platforms.
The forum’s theme is “Have your say on the Constitution Bill and other Key National Issues”. The FMA says attendees need not be legal specialists to take part, and encourages questions about the bill, the cost of living, jobs, education, health services and public accountability.
According to the announcement, questions can be submitted in advance through a form linked to the event poster. The stated deadline is midnight on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, Fiji time. People who do not submit a question beforehand can still attend and ask it at the forum.
The association says public participation is central to the event, which aims to make room for informed and respectful discussion and to encourage clear answers. The forum will also be available to watch live on the fijivillage Facebook page at 7pm Thursday.
